What did you miss this week? Here’s your weekly round up of posts and news by Bruins Tape to Tape that you might have missed.
Snap Shots
A snapshot in hockey is a type of shot taken by a player that combines the quickness of a wrist shot with the power of a slap shot. It is characterized by a short wind-up and quick release, making it an effective way to get the puck on net quickly without giving defenders or the goalie much time to react.
Pastrnak Carrying the Bruins as Marchand Goes Down
🎙️ The Boston Bruins are facing mounting pressure as they head into a crucial stretch. With David Pastrňák doing all he can to carry the team, the Bruins are struggling to find offensive support. Brad Marchand’s recent injury adds to the concern, leaving a gaping hole in the roster. In a weekend of highs and lows, the Bruins managed a win over Pittsburgh but faltered against Minnesota, proving once again that if Pastrňák doesn't score, the team can't seem to win. With upcoming matchups against the Predators, Canes, and Lightning, can the Bruins hold it together, or will their playoff hopes continue to slip away?
How Do We Move on from Marchand?
🎙️This trade deadline day will be remembered by Boston Bruins fans for a long time; Bruins management signaled to all that they weren't thinking about a re-tool anymore, but a full-on rebuild with the departure of Trent Frederic, Justin Brazeau, Charlie Coyle, Brandon Carlo, and Brad Marchand. Of the players on the historic run season from 2 years ago, only 5 players remain. While we understand that the NHL is a business, there is such a thing as the right way and wrong way to conduct said business. By some miracle, the remaining team was able to take advantage of a lack-luster effort by Tampa Bay and took home the W. Tuesday in Boston will be a very interesting night.
Bruins Playoff Hopes in Serious Jeopardy
🎙️The Bruins are running out of time, and their playoff hopes are hanging by a thread. After back-to-back statement wins over Tampa Bay and Florida, reality hit hard with a crushing 6-3 loss to the Senators. The young guns showed promise, with Casey Mittelstadt and Marat Khusnutdinov both finding the back of the net, but defensive lapses and a brutal first period from Jeremy Swayman left the team reeling. With Joe Sacco failing to step in and stop the bleeding, questions about the coaching staff's future are growing louder. Can the Bruins bounce back against Tampa Bay on Saturday, or is the pressure of the playoff race too much for this squad to handle?

Oh Captain, My Bruins Captain: Marchand Dealt Dirty
🏒 The Bruins next era began officially at 3:00pm on Friday, March 7th, 2025. It might very well prove to be a date as indelible as May 10, 1970 (Mother’s Day Goal), June 15, 2011, or November 30, 2005 (B’s trade Jumbo). A line up without Charlie Coyle, Trent Frederic, Justin Brazeau, and Brandon Carlo is a re-tool. But a roster without Brad Marchand - nearly unthinkable. Where does the team go from here?
